New Equipment |
(a) Twin
6 KVA (ONAN) Generators |
| |
|
The Squadron
has recently received 6 x twin 6 KVA (ONAN) generators mounted
in 1 ton trailers . These generators arc to be used with the
D11/R234 stations and will eventually replace completely the
single 6KVA Coventry Climax generators. At present there is
no spares backing for the generators. Staff are informed. |
| |
|
|
| |
|
(b) Airportable
(Airtech) Containers |
| |
|
The Squadron
has now received its full entitlement of 12 Airtech containers
completely replacing the Austin I ton K9 vehicles. HF Troop
has also received 9 x 3 ton vehicles on the basis of one vehicle
for each of the six stations (2 containers) and one vehicle
for every two stations to carry running gear and stores. A mobile
gantry has also been provided locally to facilitate ease of
loading and unloading from the vehicles in the field, This enables
the Squadron to move complete stations long distances by road
and obviates the need to tow the cabins (a hazardous occupation
with the issue running gear). Insecure wheel locking nuts appear
to be a structural weakness in the running. This matter is under
investigation by CSO FARELF |

|
| |
|
(c) Lightweight
Shelters |
| |
|
Six of these
have now been received by the Squadron for Comcen use. |

(d) C15 Installation
Kit |
| |
|
This kit has
recently been received for installation of a C15 station in
a 3/4 ton Landrover. 40 Base Workshops have installed the station
and trials are being carried out by HF Troop. |
