New Equipment |
(a) Generators
6KVA |
| |
|
Although this
equipment has been in use in the Corps for a long time the Squadron
received eight of these generators in November 1964. It has
been proved that a 3 1/2KVA generator did not produce sufficient
power to run D11/R230 equipment with the associated air conditioners;
thus a generator with a greater power output was needed and
the 6KVA Coventry Climax generators provided the answer. The
generators are not affected by the climate and have given NO
problems. |

(b) Cabins
Airtech D11/R230 |
| |
|
The squadron
has three transmitter cabins and three receiver cabins. The
installation is much better than in the 1 ton Austin K9. The
cabins with their running gear will go into most SRT & MRT
transport aircraft which assist the Squadrons airportable
role. (Whereas the Austin 1 ton vehicle will go into BEVERLY
aircraft only.) The equipments have NOT yet been moved by aircraft
but exhaustive tests have been carried out on the installations,
and these have proved very satisfactory. |
